FENTON, Mo. – Saint Louis FC announced on Thursday its first new additions of the offseason, with the signing of goalkeeper Devala Gorrick and midfielder Ivan Mirkovic. Both signings are pending league and federation approval.

Gorrick was a USL All-League Second Team selection for Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC this past season, and also a finalist for the USL Goalkeeper of the Year award as he finished second in the USL in save percentage (.781) and fifth in goals-against average (0.84). Gorrick made 49 regular-season appearances for the Switchbacks, and three playoff starts over the past two seasons.

“Devala is an experienced goalkeeper in USL,” said Saint Louis FC General Manager Jeremy Alumbaugh. “He has played a majority of the minutes the past two seasons while garnering several honors. He’s the consistent presence that every player likes to know is behind them in goal. He has a history of winning in USL.”

Mirkovic is reunited with new Saint Louis FC Head Coach Preki, having previously played for him in Sacramento in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. The central midfielder made 46 regular-season appearances for Republic FC, helping the side win the 2014 USL Cup, and this past season recorded 25 appearances for Orange County Blues FC as the side reached the Western Conference Semifinals of the 2016 USL Cup Playoffs.

“Ivan is a player that teams do not enjoy playing against,” said Alumbaugh. “He is a fierce competitor that competes every minute he is on the field.  He was instrumental in the success that OC Blues had this season in making the playoffs and in Sacramento winning a championship in 2014. Fans and supporters in St. Louis can expect a hard-working central midfielder that will be an anchor in the midfield, both defensively and in possession for us.”
