Seaton Signs Contract Extension with Orange County

Has scored 15 goals this season after postseason hat trick last Saturday night

IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Wednesday its had agreed to terms on a contract extension with Jamaican international Michael Seaton. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 22-year-old is Orange County’s second-leading scorer this season with 15 goals in 27 appearances this season to form one of the best attacking tandems in the USL with Danish forward Thomas Enevoldsen. Seaton recorded the fourth hat trick in USL Cup Playoffs history this past Saturday as the No. 1-seed OCSC took a 4-0 win against Saint Louis FC for the club’s first postseason victory in its history.

“I’m very excited for Michael’s new deal,” said Orange County SC Head Coach Braeden Cloutier. “Michael has shown throughout the season and most recently last weekend versus St. Louis his ability to score goals and terrorize defenses. I’m really looking forward to continue working with Mike and building consistency within this team and organization for the future”, added Braeden Cloutier.

Seaton is the second key player to have been signed by the club in recent weeks, joining standout midfielder Aodhan Quinn. In addition to his goals, Seaton has recorded six assists and 34 key passes in the 2018 USL season, and is looking forward to returning to the club in 2019.

“I am excited to extend my contract with OCSC and would like to thank Braeden and the entire technical staff for believing in me this season,” said Seaton. “I am motivated to lead this team to the USL Cup and build on it for next year.”

Seaton made his MLS Debut for D.C. United at 17 years old, while also competing for the Portland Timbers during his time in the league. He spent the past two years playing in Isreal for Hapoel Ramat Gan Givatayi F.C. and Hapoel Tel Aviv F.C. of the Liga Leumit League.
