CARY, N.C. (Aug, 21, 2018) - North Carolina FC has announced that goalkeeper George Marks is no longer on the official team roster. Marks departed NCFC earlier this summer to start his college career with Clemson.

Marks was a member of the NCFC first team for the last two seasons, where he trained and developed, while maintaining his amateur status. Additionally, the young goalkeeper played a major role in the success of NCFC U-23 during the 2018 season, totaling 630 minutes in seven starts between the posts.

Marks is ingrained in NCFC’s youth-to-pro pipeline and is a product of NCFC Youth Academy, where he featured for various Academy teams over the last four years. The Raleigh native totaled 62 appearances for the Academy.

Marks and the Tigers will begin their season on Friday, Aug. 24 in Omaha Neb., as the team takes on Creighton in the official season opener. North Carolina FC wishes George all the best in his freshman campaign.
