Rowdies Notes
The Rowdies are coming off back-to-back losses to two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, but now have a chance to get back on track with a pair of home games against teams in the playoff positions. Tampa Bay went on the road last week and was beaten 2-0 by East-leading FC Cincinnati via goals from Emanuel Ledesma and Danni Konig in the 54th and 84th minutes respectively.

That match featured a handful of new faces for the Rowdies as they continue their midseason roster shakeup following a handful of departures and arrivals. Midfielder Kwadwo Poku made his Rowdies debut as a starter and played 71 minutes before being replaced by Leon Taylor. Defender Kyle Porter made his 2018 Rowdies debut and played the full 90 minutes. Two more players — forward Stefano Bonomo and midfielder Afrim Taku — made their first starts for the Rowdies, though both had come off the bench in previous matches.

Tampa Bay is in a rare dip in form at home, having lost two of their last three contests at Al Lang Stadium. Before losing 2-1 to Penn FC on June 22, the Rowdies had been unbeaten in 18-straight regulation matches at Al Lang dating back to last season. The Rowdies bounced back with a home win over Toronto FC II on July 4, but lost to Louisville City FC on July 7. The Rowdies haven’t lost back-to-back home matches since July 18 and July 25 of 2015.
