CHICAGO – Louisville City FC will play host to Nashville SC at the University of Louisville’s Lynn Stadium in the Round of 16 of the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, with the all-USL tie drawn on Thursday morning at U.S. Soccer’s headquarters guaranteeing one of the league’s clubs will reach the quarterfinals for a second consecutive season.

Sacramento Republic FC, the third USL club to advance from the Fourth Round this week, will head on the road to face Major League Soccer expansion side Los Angeles FC, with the Round of 16 contests set to be played between June 16-20.

Louisville and Nashville have already squared off twice in the USL regular season this year, with both teams taking victory on home turf. Louisville took a 2-0 victory on the opening weekend of the 2018 season as goals by Luke Spencer and Niall McCabe gave the defending USL Cup champion a winning start to its title defense.

Nashville gained its revenge on May 13 as it handed Louisville its first defeat of the season in a 2-0 victory at First Tennessee Park as a pair of goals by Lebo Moloto sent the hosts to victory. After each defeated MLS opposition in this week’s Fourth Round, the winner of the contest will advance to face either Atlanta United FC or the Chicago Fire in the Quarterfinals.

Sacramento became the only USL club to advance to the Round of 16 for a second consecutive year with its extra time victory on Wednesday night against Seattle Sounders FC and was rewarded with a trip to face Los Angeles FC at its new home venue. The meeting will be the second between the clubs, who met at Papa Murphy’s Park this preseason when LAFC took a 1-0 victory on a goal by Joao Moutinho.
