Burke, Lowe Lead USL Players in Jamaica Squad

Nine players with USL ties to meet United States on Friday in exhibition

Bethlehem Steel FC forward Cory Burke and Tampa Bay Rowdies defender Damion Lowe were among nine current and former USL players named to the Jamaica National Team squad that will face the United States on Friday, Feb. 3 at Finlay Stadium.

Burke returns to the squad after recording four goals in his first season for Steel FC. He is joined in the Reggae Boyz attack by Atlanta United FC’s Romario Williams, who notched 10 goals on loan with Charleston Battery in 2016 before joining Atlanta in a trade with the Montreal Impact.

Lowe, who joined the Rowdies this offseason from Seattle Sounders FC, is joined by Sergio Campbell, who made 26 appearances for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds a season ago. Also included is former Sacramento Republic FC loanee Alvas Powell, and Seattle Sounders FC defender Oneil Fisher, who made 12 appearances for S2 on loan last season.

Real Salt Lake midfielder Omar Holness, who made seven appearances for Real Monarchs SLC a season ago was also named to the team. Goalkeeper Ryan Thompson, who played for Saint Louis FC a season ago, and former Wilmington Hammerheads FC midfielder Michael Binns are also in the squad.
