HARRISON, N.J. – The New York Red Bulls II were presented with the 2016 USL Regular Season Championship trophy on Sunday, as the side was honored prior to kickoff of the MLS clash between the New York Red Bulls and D.C. United at Red Bulls Arena.
The Red Bulls II clinched the regular season championship on Wednesday evening in a 4-1 victory against the Harrisburg City Islanders, and on Saturday followed that by setting a new USL record for points in a single-season with a 1-1 draw against the Rochester Rhinos.
The side was presented the trophy by USL VP of Competition & Operations Perry Van Der Beck, and then was lauded by the club’s fans, including the supporters groups in the South Ward.

New York has two games remaining in the regular season, and has two more major single-season records within reach. One more victory would give the Red Bulls II 20 for the season, and two more goals would give the side 57 for the season. The side has already set new marks for not only points in a season, but away wins in a season with 12.
