City Islanders, Steel enter needing victory as both chase eighth-place Orlando

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Harrisburg City Islanders play host to Bethlehem Steel FC on Tuesday night at FNB Field with both Pennsylvania rivals looking to close the gap to eighth-place Orlando City B to three points with a victory. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.


Harrisburg City Islanders news and notes

  • Current record: 7-14-5, 26pts
  • Harrisburg claimed the Keystone Derby Cup on Saturday with a 1-1 draw against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at FNB Field.
  • Craig Foster gave the City Islanders the lead against their in-state rival with 25 minutes to go, but Sergio Campbell denied Harrisburg all three points with an equalizer five minutes later.
  • The City Islanders have a maximum total of 38 points available with four games remaining. With eighth-place Orlando sitting on 32 points with five games to play, a win on Tuesday night is vital to Harrisburg’s playoff hopes.
  • Tuesday night’s game is Harrisburg’s last at FNB Field this season, with its home finale against Wilmington Hammerheads FC being played at Clipper Magazine Stadium on Sept. 17.

Bethlehem Steel FC news and notes

  • Current record: 6-11-8, 26pts
  • The Steel were edged out 1-0 by Louisville City FC on Saturday night at Slugger Field as the side remained six point behind eighth-place Orlando.
  • Bethlehem is now winless in its last seven games (0-5-2), with its last victory coming on July 14 against Wilmington Hammerheads FC.
  • The Steel will likely be without forward Cory Burke, who was named in Jamaica’s World Cup Qualifying squad last week.
  • Tuesday night’s game is Bethlehem’s penultimate road game of the season, with three of the team’s final four games on home turf.
