Rivals meet for the second time this season as Rhinos push for playoffs

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Harrisburg City Islanders and Rochester Rhinos meet for the second time this season on Friday night at FNB Field with the Rhinos aiming to complete the month of July undefeated as the look to bolster their position in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.


Harrisburg City Islanders news and notes

  • Current record: 6-13-2, 20pts
  • The City Islanders took a second consecutive victory in their last outing when they defeated Bethlehem Steel FC 1-0 last Thursday at Goodman Stadium.
  • Brett Jankouskas scored the only goal of the game with 16 minutes to go for his second of the season.
  • Harrisburg has claimed back-to-back victories only twice this year, and currently sits five points back of the eighth and final playoff place with nine games remaining.
  • The City Islanders’ shutout against the Steel was their third of the season, as the side has conceded the third-most goals in the USL this year (38).

  • The Rhinos have gone 3-0-4 over the course of their current run of form, with three of the draws coming in their last four games.
  • Rochester’s overall goals-against average of 0.89 is the fifth-best in the league, as Tomas Gomez and Adam Grinwis have split time in goal this season.
