CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati has sold more than 15,000 tickets to its upcoming international exhibition with the Premier League’s Crystal Palace, the Cincinnati Business Courier reported on Wednesday, with team President Jeff Berding anticipating Nippert Stadium will see the biggest crowd in the club’s short history at July 16’s contest.

“We anticipate we’re going to sell it out,” Berding told the CBC’s Steve Watkins. “I think Crystal Palace will be the biggest soccer spectacle this community has ever seen.”

Nippert Stadium's official capacity is 35,097, and according to Berding a number of sections have already sold out. Most notable among those is The Bailey, the supporter's section that has provided an outstanding backdrop to FC Cincinnati's home games so far this season.

FC Cincinnati has already set a USL record for all-time single-game attendance as it saw 23,375 fans on hand for its regular-season contest with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on May 14. The club is also currently on pace to set a new USL record for total attendance for the season, with an average attendance of 16,204 through its first six home games this season.
