VANCOUVER, B.C. – Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2’s Kadin Chung has been named the 2015 Canadian U17 Player of the Year.

The standout defender, who made his debut for WFC2 this past season against Orange County Blues FC on Sept. 13, was honored on Sunday after a year that saw him appear in all six games for Canada at the CONCACAF U-17 Championship, and score his first international goal in a 3-1 win against Haiti.

“Kadin is a perfect example of a player who has dedicated and committed to his development in our Residency program,” said Whitecaps FC Residency technical director Craig Dalrymple to WhitecapsFC.com. “He has represented Whitecaps FC at all levels, including most recently at the USL level. His character is flawless, and combined with his ever improving technical and tactical competencies, he has also been able to positively affect games at the international level.”

Chung was recently among five players with Canadian youth international experience announced as returning to WFC2 for the 2016 season.
