ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (October 15, 2017) — The Tampa Bay Rowdies will open the 2017 USL Cup Playoffs against FC Cincinnati on Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 at Al Lang Stadium.

The Rowdies earned the No. 3 seed after Saturday night's matches and learned their first round opponent Sunday afternoon following Bethlehem Steel FC's match against Saint Louis FC.

FC Cincinnati moved up to sixth place with a late 4-3 win on the road against Toronto FC II on Saturday night. 

The Rowdies drew 1-1 in Cincinnati on April 19 and beat FC Cincinnati 2-0 on July 6 in the return fixture. Marcel Schäfer, Martin Paterson and Joe Cole scored Tampa Bay's goal against Cincinnati this season.

The winner will move on to an Eastern Conference semifinal against the winner of No. 2 Charleston Battery against No. 7 New York Red Bulls II. 

Should the Rowdies advance to face the Battery, the match will be played on Saturday, October 28 at MUSC Health Stadium in Charleston at 7 p.m.  If the Rowdies advance to face New York, the match will be at Al Lang on October 28 at 7:30.
