Tucson Set For MLS Preseason
Fields for Desert Friendlies, Diamond Cup announced

FC Tucson and Major League Soccer have announced five teams slated to take part in the 2015 Desert Friendlies and an updated group of six teams that will compete in the 2015 FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup. The Portland Timbers, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, San Jose Earthquakes, Sporting Kansas City and Houston Dynamo will train at Kino Sports Complex and compete in the Desert Friendlies matches from January 31 through February 12.

Republic FC Announces Nine Returnees

Sacramento Republic FC announced that they have exercised the contract extension options on nine players from the 2014 USL PRO Championship roster. Goalkeeper Dominik Jakubek, defenders Emrah Klimenta, James Kiffe and Nemanja Vuković, midfielders Max Alvarez, Agustin Cazarez, Mawolo “Gabe” Gissie and Octavio Guzman and forward Thomas Stewart will return to Republic FC for the 2015 USL PRO season joining midfielder Rodrigo Lopez who is entering the second year of a two-year contract.

The regular season comes to an end for some, while postseason conference tournaments begin for others, as Division I Women’s Soccer teams across the country make their bids for a berth in the NCAA Tournament this weekend. A number of key games are set to be aired on national television and online, with W-League standouts set to feature on the road to the College Cup.

A pair of Top 25 matchups that feature major postseason implications and a fine in-state rivalry highlight this weekend’s action in Division I Men’s Soccer. With regular-season conference titles on the line and postseason seeding up for grabs, current and former PDL players will feature prominently for their teams as the countdown to the NCAA Tournament begins.

Riverhounds Ready For Resurgence

A year ago, things appeared to be moving in a positive direction for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. A strong second half of the 2013 USL PRO season had landed a berth in the playoffs, forward Jose Angulo and midfielder Matt Dallman had both set league records for goals and assists respectively, and the offseason additions of players such as All-League selection Joseph Ngwenya appeared to make the side one of the strongest on paper going into the new season.

Boden Re-Signs With Orlando

Orlando City Soccer Club announced today the signing of defender Luke Boden and midfielder Harrison Heath to multi-year deals, as the club continues to comprise a competitive roster for its inaugural 2015 Major League Soccer (MLS) season. Per club and league policy, additional terms of the deal were not announced.
