Sacramento Republic FC news and notes

  • Current record: 10-8-5, 35pts

  • Republic FC continued a frustrating recent run, as it fell to a 3-1 loss to Phoenix Rising FC last Saturday night at the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex.

  • The lone goal for Republic FC came in the 50th minute through Trevin Caesar, who will be away on international duty with Trinidad & Tobago for Saturday's contest.

  • In addition to Caesar, Republic FC will be without Emrah Klimenta, who was called into Montenegro's squad for World Cup Qualifying this week.

  • Republic FC midfielder Jeremy Hall leads the USL with 1,335 completed passes this season, and could be key as Sacramento aims to end a three-game winless streak.

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC news and notes

  • Current record: 9-10-6, 33pts

  • Switchbacks FC comes into this match following a 2-1 loss to the LA Galaxy II, but come in well rested, having not played since August 18th.

  • The Switchbacks conceded a late own goal by Sean McFarlane against the Galaxy II after Aaron King’s goal pulled them back into the match.

  • Colorado Springs will be looking to get its away record on track, with just three wins on the road this year, as it visits a Sacramento side that has lost only twice at home this season.

  • The Switchbacks announced this week the signing of forward Tobenna Uzo, who was the No. 9 prospect in the PDL this past season after earning All-League honors for the Myrtle Beach Mutiny.
