Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 news and notes

  • Current record: 4-13-7, 19pts

  • WFC2 faces a tight turnaround as it travels back home following a 1-0 loss to San Antonio FC at Toyota Field on Wednesday night.

  • Vancouver gave up a goal in the first 15 minutes and could not get back into the match against a SAFC side desperate to turn its form around.

  • The loss extended a long winless streak for 14th-place WFC2, which is now in the middle of a 13-game run without a victory that extends to June 10th.

  • There were moments that WFC2 impressed in San Antonio, and it looked dangerous in the closing stages, but will need more than two shots on target to win on Sunday.

LA Galaxy II news and notes

  • Current record: 6-12-4, 22pts

  • The Galaxy II come into Sunday's contest off a road victory, with the side having taken victory against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC 2-1 last Friday night.

  • After taking the lead through Ariel Lassiter in the 52nd minute, an own goal from Sean McFarlane handed Los Dos a vital victory to keep them in touch with the USL Western Conference playoff places.

  • The Galaxy II find themselves back on form, having lost just one match in their last six, and while there is still more work to be done, they find themselves back in with a chance of making the USL Cup Playoffs for a fourth consecutive season.

  • LA has a better record away from home, having won four matches, and will need to continue that record to stay in touch.

Series Notes

  • The Galaxy II lead the all time series 3-1-1, having won the earlier match this season 2-0 in LA.
