Orange County grabbed a late 1-1 draw with Phoenix Rising FC last Friday night in front of a sellout crowd at Champions Soccer Stadium’s official opening.
Sola Abolaji scored in the 89th minute to mark his debut for the club with a goal, having come on as a substitute with 10 minutes to go.
Orange County has drawn three consecutive outings, and is looking for its first victory since a 1-0 win on July 29 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2.
OCSC has not scored multiple goals in a game since July 22, when it took a 4-0 victory against Rio Grande Valley FC.
OKC Energy FC news and notes
Current record: 8-9-6, 30pts
Energy FC played to a 0-0 draw last Saturday night at home against San Antonio FC to remain in the eighth and final playoff position in the Western Conference.
OKC has only won once on the road this season, against the last-place Portland Timbers 2, and has a road record of 1-7-4 this season.
Forward Wojciech Wojcik made his return from injury against San Antonio, having missed 12 games with a fractured elbow suffered in the club’s 3-2 win against Phoenix Rising FC on June 6.
Midfielder Jose Barril is tied for 10th in the USL with 40 key passes, but has registered only one assists in the 2017 season.
