Seattle Sounders FC 2 news and notes

Current record: 7-13-2, 23pts

Seattle Sounders FC 2 comes into the first match of their Cascadia series off of an entertaining but frustrating 4-3 loss to Rio Grande Valley FC Toros last Sunday.

Felix Chenkam, Zach Mathers, and Francisco Narbon all scored the goals, as Seattle had a 3-1 lead at halftime, but threw it away in the second half.

Seattle may have dominated possession but they struggled to win battles, losing duels and aerial duels, with their distribution not as strong, but the three goals will give them confidence heading in to the derby.

Seattle has lost their last six matches with their last win coming against the Whitecaps.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 news and notes

Current record: 4-11-6, 18pts

Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 comes in to the match after a loss, falling to Sacramento Republic FC 1-0 last Saturday.

It was a late penalty which cost Vancouver a share of the points as the match was fairly even throughout, and statistically Vancouver nearly won.

Vancouver was outshot 22-4 in the match, and they will have to be more clinical in Seattle as they need the win, not just for bragging rights.
