Portland Timbers 2 news and notes

Current record: 2-16-3, 9pts

A difficult season for Portland Timbers 2 continued on Saturday as they were well beaten by Colorado Springs Switchbacks, falling to a 4-1 loss.

The lone goal in the match for Portland came from an own goal through Conner Bevans in the 89th minute.

Things could have been a lot better for Portland as they had two penalties awarded but both times Moise Pouaty came up with a save for the Switchbacks.

Statistically the match was a lot closer than 4-1 would indicate, with Portland winning possession (57.4%), duels (54.4%), and aerial duals (56.3%).

With a derby next week and Danny Earls and Rennico Clarke on yellow card trouble the starting 11 will be one to watch, but with a desperate need for points, Portland may not be able to afford resting anyone.
