Bethlehem Steel FC news and notes

  • Current record: 8-6-2, 26pts

  • Steel FC claimed a 2-0 victory against the New York Red Bulls II last Sunday evening as goals by Chris Nanco and Fabian Herbers earned the hosts victory at Goodman Stadium.

  • The victory extended Bethlehem’s undefeated streak to seven games, and with a win on Saturday the club would move into the top four in the Eastern Conference.

  • Steel FC defender Auston Trusty and midfielder Derrick Jones were both named on Thursday to compete in the 2017 MLS Homegrown Game, two of 13 players with USL experience named in the squad.

  • Bethlehem has allowed only one goal in its past four outings, and has now conceded the fifth-fewest goals in the USL this season.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds news and notes

  • The Riverhounds played to a 0-0 draw with Orlando City B last Saturday night as the side continued to edge toward the playoff positions in the Eastern Conference.

  • The Riverhounds have scored only 16 goals this season, and have recorded multiple goals in a game only twice since a 3-3 draw to open the season against the New York Red Bulls II.
