Top two in the Eastern Conference clash at MUSC Health Stadium

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Eastern Conference-leading Charleston Battery welcome second-place Louisville City FC to MUSC Health Stadium on Saturday night with both teams coming off good victories in their most recent outings to set up a top of the table showdown. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET, and the Video Assistant Referee system will be in use.

Charleston Battery news and notes

  • Current record: 10-2-4, 34pts

  • The Battery extended their undefeated streak to five games with a 2-0 victory against the Tampa Bay Rowdies last Saturday night at MUSC Health Stadium.

  • Romario Williams and Heviel Cordoves scored in the second half, while Maikel Chang notched both assists as he earned USL Team of the Week honors.

  • The Battery will be without Williams on Saturday night as he is away for international duty with Jamaica at the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

  • Chang’s two assists moved him level for the team-lead with Justin Portillo. Both players have notched five helpers this season.

  • City sits six points back of the Battery going into Saturday night’s second meeting of the season between the teams, but holds two games in hand.
