Forward joins Salazar in Ottawa on loan from Montreal

OTTAWA – Ottawa Fury FC announced on Friday that the club had acquired striker Nick DePuy on loan from the Montreal Impact ahead of their USL match against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday afternoon.

The 22-year-old becomes the second player to join Ottawa on loan from Montreal in less than two weeks after Michael Salazar came to the nation's capital last week and featured in last Saturday's draw with the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

"Nick is a big target striker, much in the Tucker Hume mold," said Fury FC General Manager and Head Coach Paul Dalglish. "We are looking forward ho having him join the club. He will be a great addition to our lineup."

The Impact drafted Depuy 19th overall in the MLS SuperDraft in January. The 6-foot-5 striker featured for UC Santa Barbara for the last four years. After starting his career as a defender, he became a striker and scored 31 goals in 62 games during his last three seasons.

The Irvine, Calif. native, was named to the NSCAA First Team All-American in 2015 and was a semi-finalist for the MAC-Hermann Trophy - awarded annually to the best collegiate soccer player. DePuy was also a three-time First Team All-Big West Conference, from 2014 to 2016.

Per the Right of Recall incorporated in the loan agreement, the Impact retain the right to recall the player at any point during the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines.
