Orange County opens its new home in the second I-405 Derby of the season

IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC will welcome fans to its new home at Orange County Great Park on Saturday evening as it host the LA Galaxy II for the second I-405 Derby of the season, and the conclusion of a home-and-home series between the clubs. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. PT.

Orange County SC news and notes

  • Current record: 2-1-1, 7pts

  • Orange County and the Galaxy II played to a 1-1 draw at StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium on April 22 in the last outing for both teams.

  • OC took the lead early in the second half on an own goal by LA’s Jean Engola, but Los Dos equalized through Adrian Vera to earn the hosts a point.

  • Orange County Great Park will be OCSC’s new home this season as the club moves into a newly-created 194-acre sports park within the 688-acre park’s confines.

  • Orange County has averaged 427 passes per game in its first four contests, and is tied for seventh in the USL with a 77 percent accuracy rate.

  • The Galaxy II are looking for their first win since the opening day of the season when they visit Orange County on Saturday to complete the home-and-home series between the clubs.

  • Adrian Vera’s goal was his first for the club, with the 20-year-old having signed with the Galaxy II last July from the club’s academy.

  • The Galaxy II started the club’s youngest starting lineup in club history against Orange County on April 22, with 10 players aged 20-or-younger selected. Defender Bradley Diallo was the lone player over the age of 20.

  • Midfielder Jaime Villarreal is eligible to return to the Galaxy II lineup on Saturday after completing his three-game suspension.
