Orlando aims at back-to-back wins as Martinez returns for Charlotte

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City B will try to earn back-to-back victories when it welcomes the Charlotte Independence to Orlando City Stadium on Saturday night, with the Independence likely to welcome its leading player from 2016 back to the lineup. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

Orlando City B news and notes

  • Current record: 1-2-0, 3pts

  • OCB earned its first victory of the season on Tuesday night as it defeated Toronto FC II 3-1 at Orlando City Stadium.

  • Paul Clowes, Hadji Barry and Lewis Neal all recorded their first goals of the season in the victory, with Clowes’ goal his first since joining the club this offseason.

  • U.S. Youth National Team player Pierre Da Silva recorded a pair of assists in the contest, but will serve a suspension on Saturday after receiving a red card in the second half.

  • Saturday’s contest could see the OCB debut of Jordan Schweitzer, who recently made a pair of appearances for Canada U23 national team in Qatar.

Charlotte Independence news and notes

  • Current record: 0-1-0, 0pts

  • The Independence fell 2-0 to the Charleston Battery in their opening game of the season last Saturday night at Transamerica Field.

  • Charlotte held 62 percent of possession, but only recorded two shots on goals as tallies by Romario Williams and Forrest Lasso gave the visitors victory in the first Southern Derby of the season.

  • The Independence will welcome back 2016 USL Most Valuable Player finalist Enzo Martinez after he served a one-game suspension in their season opener.

  • Midfielder Jun Marques Davidson will also be available for selection after suspension, after having made 30 appearances in the regular-season and playoffs a year ago for the club.
