FENTON, Mo. – Saint Louis FC announced on Friday the signing of defender Konrad Plewa, a 2016 USL Cup winner with the New York Red Bulls II. The signing is pending league and federation approval.

lewa was born in Maniowy, Poland and started playing for the New York Red Bulls Academy program in 2010. He attended Seton Hall from 2011-2015 where he scored five goals and provided nine assists in 54 appearances.

In 2015, Plewa signed with the Red Bulls II for their inaugural season in the USL. He made 24 appearances, scored three goals, and provided two assists during a season that also saw him compete for the Red Bulls in an international exhibition against the Premier League’s Chelsea FC in July 2015. Plewa made 23 appearances this past season, and started in every postseason contest as the Red Bulls II claimed the USL Cup.

“Konrad provides another steady defensive presence with not only good defensive habits, but he is also very comfortable on the ball and makes good decisions, “said STLFC General Manager, Jeremy Alumbaugh. “His playoff experience and role in the championship run last season adds to our strong defensive core.”
