LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville City FC announced on Tuesday that iit had agreed to a new contract with goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, and the signing is pending league and federation approval.

"I'm really happy to sign and be part of the team in the coming year," Ranjitsingh said. "I'm excited to play in front of the fans again and hopefully bring a championship and a trophy to the city."

Ranjitsingh took the spotlight between the sticks for Louisville this season, as he finished third in the USL with a 0.83 goals-against average in 24 appearances in the regular season. Ranjitsingh recorded five consecutive shutouts in the month of May, and earned his first call-up to the Trinidad & Tobago National Team in October for the country’s World Cup Qualifying contests against Guatemala and the United States.

Ranjitsingh also recorded back-to-back shutouts in the 2016 USL Cup Playoffs before being forced out of the Eastern Conference Final against the New York Red Bulls II due to injury. The 23-year-old native of Brampton, Ontario will enter his third season with Louisville in 2017.

"I'm really pleased to get Greg back on board," O'Connor said. "The way he's developed since he got here has been really impressive."

Ranjitsingh rejoins a strong contingent of players set to return to Louisville for the 2017 USL season, including defenders Kyle Smith, Sean Reynolds, Tarek Morad and Paco Craig, midfielders Guy Abend, Niall McCabe, Mark-Anthony Kaye and Paolo DelPiccolo, and forwards Cameron Lancaster and Ilija Ilic.

"For 2017, I just hope we keep building off the previous years," Ranjitsingh said. "Being here since the inaugural, Louisville City is a club that has grown ever since. I expect to have more success."
