San Antonio’s Thuriere Named in Haiti Squad

Midfielder has made 18 appearances for SAFC this season

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC midfielder Sebastien Thuriere has been included in the Haiti squad for 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers vs. Costa Rica on Sept. 2 and vs. Jamaica on Sept. 6, the club announced today.

Thuriere will join up with Haiti following San Antonio's match against Saint Louis FC on Aug. 27.

Thuriere has made nearly 20 total appearances for the Haitian national team, playing in competitions such as the Caribbean Cup, the CONACAF Gold Cup, Copa America and World Cup Qualifiers. Thuriere was a part of the initial preliminary 28-man Haiti squad prior to the recent 2016 Copa America Centenario, and returned to San Antonio prior to the start of the tournament.

Thuriere, 26, joined SAFC after spending the 2015 season with the Charleston Battery. This season for San Antonio, Thuriere has made 18 USL appearances and totaled 1,000 minutes played, recording an assist while also playing 90 minutes in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Due to his national team commitments, Thuriere will be unavailable for the SAFC match at Swope Park Rangers on Aug. 31 along with the following home match vs. Arizona United SC on Sept. 4.
