COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC has acquired Colorado Rapids forward Conor Doyle on loan through the remainder of the 2016 season.

The 24-year-old forward joined the Rapids prior to the start of the 2016 MLS season after having made more than 50 appearances for D.C. United across three seasons. The former U.S. U23 international began his professional career in England with Derby County, where he made 22 appearances across all competitions.

"We are happy to add Conor to our roster,” said Switchbacks Head Coach Steve Trittschuh. ”He has a lot of MLS experience and a good nose for the goal. He will be a great addition to our pursuit for the USL Championship.”

Doyle helped United claimed the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and also appeared in the CONCACAF Champions League during his time with the club. Doyle was traded to the Rapids on February 9, and has made three MLS appearances this season for the second-place side in the MLS Western Conference.

The Switchbacks will return to action on Wednesday night as they host the Swope Park Rangers at 7 p.m. MT at Switchbacks Stadium.
