Kickers look to push on after victory as Riverhounds defend their home turf

PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Riverhounds play host to the Richmond Kickers at Highmark Stadium on Thursday night with the visitors looking to make it back-to-back wins in Pennsylvania to boost their push for a return to the playoffs. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

  • Current record: 2-9-4, 10pts
  • The Riverhounds reached the midway point of their season on Sunday evening as they fell 2-0 on the road against Bethlehem Steel FC.
  • Pittsburgh’s attack continued to struggle against the Steel, as the side now sits tied for the fewest goals in the USL with 14.
  • The Riverhounds have been outscored 11-5 over their past seven contests.
  • Goalkeeper Mauricio Vargas has been a bright spot for the side, posting a .800 save percentage and 1.00 goals-against average in his six starts this season.

  • The Kickers snapped a three-game winless streak last Friday with a 3-0 victory against the Harrisburg City Islanders.
  • Lucas Paulini had a goal and assist for the Kickers, with both being his first for the club in the league since joining this offseason.
  • Friday marked only the third time this season the Kickers had scored three goals in a game.
  • Following Thursday’s game, the Kickers will head home to host the Premier League’s Swansea City A.F.C. on Saturday night at City Stadium.
