TAMPA, Fla. – Former U.S. Women’s National Team defender Heather Mitts will be added as a guest host for Saturday’s USL Game of the Week on ESPN3 between Eastern Conference-leading Louisville City FC and expansion FC Cincinnati. In addition to hosting the pre-game and halftime shows for an expanded two-and-a-half-hour broadcast, Mitts will handle sideline reporting responsibilities throughout the match.

The three-time Olympic gold medalist, 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup participant and Cincinnati native has served as a reporter and analyst on a number of occasions, including last year’s coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup for FOX Sports.

Louisville hosts Cincinnati in the highly anticipated Eastern Conference matchup at 7:30 p.m. ET at Louisville Slugger Field. The two sides continue their quest for the River Cities Cup, the head-to-head trophy between these regional rivals. Louisville holds the series lead following a 3-2 road victory against Cincinnati on April 16 in front of a crowd of 20,497 at Nippert Stadium.

Mitts joins an ESPN3 coverage team that recently added longtime defender Cory Gibbs as an analyst for this past Friday’s draw between Tulsa Roughnecks FC and the LA Galaxy II. Gibbs enjoyed a playing career that spanned four different MLS teams, included 19 international appearances for the U.S. Men’s National Team and an overseas career with FC St. Pauli and Charlton Athletic.

The USL and ESPN partnered this season to bring a new level of coverage to the league with 20 exclusive regular-season broadcast on ESPN3, as well as coverage of the 2016 USL Championship on an over-the-air ESPN network.

Seven USL Game of the Week matchups have been completed, with four upcoming matches already announced. The remainder of the 20-game, regular-season schedule will be determined as the season progresses to bring supporters the most relevant games each week as clubs battle for playoff positions and seeds.
