CINCINNATI – While the result wasn’t what most had hoped for as they entered Nippert Stadium, FC Cincinnati’s second home game of its inaugural campaign continued the resounding the success the club has seen in the stands as it set a new USL regular-season attendance record with a crowd of 20,497 fans against Louisville City FC.

Cincinnati had drawn 14,658 in chilly conditions to its inaugural home opener on April 9, but the first game in the battle for the River Cities Cup against Louisville City FC and an almost-perfect day for soccer brought Cincinnati’s fans out in force, and a large contingent of travelling support from 90 minutes down the interstate in Louisville.

“The fans and the families that are here clearly shows that Cincinnati is easily ready for this market for soccer,” said Cincinnati Coach John Harkes after the game, and those on social media echoed his thoughts following a historic day for the club.
