Arizona Adds MLS Veteran Cascio to Squad

Cascio returns to his home state after making 48 appearances in Major League Soccer

PHOENIX – Arizona United SC announced on Tuesday the signing of midfielder Tony Cascio to its squad for the 2016 USL season.

A native of Gilbert, Ariz., Cascio returns to his home state after making 48 appearances in Major League Soccer over the past four seasons. A former first-round selection in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the Colorado Rapids, Cascio also spent time with the Houston Dynamo and Orlando City SC in MLS.

The 25-year-old was an NSCAA First Team All-American in 2010 and the Big East Offensive Player of the Year. Cascio made 85 appearances for the University of Connecticut, and recorded 25 goals and 24 assists in his college career.

Arizona will kick off the 2016 USL regular season on Saturday, March 26 as it faces the LA Galaxy II at StubHub Center. The club will host the Portland Timbers 2 on Saturday, April 30 in its home opener at the Peoria Sports Complex.
