Tulsa’s Feener Named Player of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. – Tulsa Roughnecks FC goalkeeper Jake Feener has been voted the USL Player of the Week for the 17th week of the 2015 season after he recorded 18 saves in his first two professional starts to lead the Roughnecks to a pair of victories.

Feener earned 67 percent of the vote, which was conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL market. Charleston Battery forward Dane Kelly finished second with 17 percent of the vote.

USL Team of the Week

GK – Jake Feener, Tulsa Roughnecks FC: Recorded 18 saves in his first two professional starts, and conceded only twice, as Tulsa defeated Orange County and Colorado Springs

D – Onua Obasi, Rochester Rhinos: Two excellent performances, particularly in Rochester’s 2-0 win in Toronto, as the Rhinos remained undefeated

D – Lee Nishanian, LA Galaxy II: Was solid in the center of Los Dos’ defense as they allowed only three shots on goal against Sacramento in a 4-0 win

D – Brady Ballew, Tulsa Roughnecks FC: Scored his second goal of the season against Colorado Springs, and put in a pair of solid performances to help Tulsa to a pair of victories

M – Enric Valles, Harrisburg City Islanders: Had a goal and an assist as the City Islanders took an important 2-0 win on the road against NYRBII

M – Andre Auras, LA Galaxy II: Scored a spectacular free kick, and distributed well in the center of midfield in Los Dos’ 4-0 win against Sacramento

M – Tyler Rosenlund, Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2: Scored a fine goal, and put in a composed performance to lead WFC2 to a 2-1 win against Portland

M – Ricardo Velazco, Real Monarchs SLC: Had a goal and an assist as the Monarchs took an impressive 3-1 win against Austin

F – Anthony Jackson-Hamel, FC Montreal: Had a pair of excellent goals as Montreal claimed a 4-2 win against Pittsburgh

F – Oalax Anderson, Seattle Sounders FC 2: Scored twice in the opening 15 minutes to send S2 on its way to a 4-0 win against Arizona

F – Dane Kelly, Charleston Battery: Struck for a pair of goals, and added an assist, as the Battery completed a season sweep of Harrisburg with a 4-0 win
