10,059 fans were on hand as LouCity defeated the New York Red Bulls II to reach the 2018 USL Cup

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville City FC played host to 10,059 fans on Friday night and were treated to a victory for the hosts as Speedy Williams’ two second-half goals earned a 5-1 victory against the New York Red Bulls II at Slugger Field to claim the USL’s Eastern Conference Championship and send the defending USL Cup champion back to the championship game for a second consecutive season.

The attendance in Louisville moved the total attendance for the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs past 100,000 fans, a first in the league’s history. The USL has averaged more than 8,000 fans per game this postseason and will now look forward to hosting the 2018 USL Cup at Lynn Stadium in Louisville, Ky. on Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET, a game that can be seen in the United States on ESPN2.
