Louisville welcomed a five-figure crowd as the Eleven visited for the final LIPAFC of the season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville City FC played host to Indy Eleven in what is being lovingly referred to as the Louisville-Indianapolis Proximity Association Football Contest as the burgeoning rivalry between the two clubs brought a crowd of 10,686 to Slugger Field that included a large contingent of travelling support to back the Boys in Blue.

Louisville took its first regular-season win in the rivalry series thanks to Cameron Lancaster’s 25th goal of the regular season, but after the game Indy Head Coach Martin Rennie praised the fans on hand that made for a memorable backdrop to the regular-season finale for both clubs.

“I think the energy level is just that much higher because you have fans in the stadium for both teams,” said Indy Head Coach Martin Rennie. “Again, our fans were magnificent traveling and making a great noise. We appreciate that so much. I think it just adds the extra edge. It was a good crowd. When it’s an evening game, when the floodlights are on and everything, it just adds a lot to the game. I just think both teams were really up for it and both teams battled hard, played well.”

Here are some of the sights and sounds from the final LIPAFC of the 2018 regular season.
