Opposition Report: Indy Eleven - 9/22

As it kicks off a stretch of three games in eight days, Indy Eleven (12-8-9) travels to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (13-4-11) for a match at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Highmark Stadium. This will mark their third meeting this season, and the sides tied their previous two matchups.

The season so far

During its first season in the USL, Indy Eleven sits in the midst of the playoff race. Currently holding the No. 5 seed, the club is five points out of second place while also having a six-point advantage on grasping a postseason bid.

In their past five games, the Eleven hold a 1-1-3 record – the one win coming at home against New York Red Bulls II. Most recently, the squad lost 1-0 at Penn FC. When Indy kicks off against the Hounds, it will mark its first match since Sept. 12.

Player to watch

Ayoze García has catalyzed the Indy offense throughout the season. The defender leads the team in assists (six) and chances created (38). He has started all 23 of his appearances and ranks fourth on his club in minutes (2,046).
