Cincinnati broke its USL single-season attendance record by hosting 27,142 fans vs. Charleston

CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati surpassed 350,000 in regular-season attendance for the first time in a season as it broke its own USL single-season attendance record as 27,142 fans were on hand on Saturday night in the club’s 3-0 victory against the Charleston Battery. With three games remaining in its regular-season slate this year, FCC has already hosted 352,709 fans at Nippert Stadium this season across 14 games.

For those that had yet to experience a Cincinnati home game on the field – like recently-acquired midfielder Fatai Alashe, who made his debut for the club with his first start on Saturday – the experience was a special one.

“I thought it was pretty fun,” said Alashe. “It obviously helps when you have a performance like this and get a result. But I thought they helped us and pushed us through the game. It was obviously we got tired at the end – which is normal – but if you can play in front of a crowd like this, it’s easy to find that energy.”

Here are some of the sights and sounds from a record-setting night at Nippert Stadium.
