World-class top-corner finish for Saint Louis takes top spot in weekly fan poll

TAMPA, Fla. – Saint Louis FC midfielder Kadeem Dacres has earned the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 22 of the 2018 season as his world-class, curled finish against Las Vegas Lights FC this past Saturday night at Toyota Stadium – Saint Louis took top spot in the weekly online poll.

Dacres had found the net for STLFC in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup earlier this season, but his first goal in the USL for the club was one worth waiting for. Picked out by a good upfield ball by defender Sam Fink on the left side, Dacres cut in toward the top corner of the penalty area and unleashed a tremendous bending finish that picked out the top-right corner of the net to give the hosts an early two-goal lead in their eventual 4-1 victory.

Dacres’ goal earned 38 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday. Louisville City FC’s Ilija Ilic finished in second place on 24 percent for his remarkable bicycle-kick finish against the New York Red Bulls II last Friday night, while Seattle Sounders FC 2 forward Shandon Hopeau took third on 16 percent for an outstanding long-range strike that found the left corner against San Antonio FC last Saturday.
