ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Saint Louis FC announced the signing of defender Tyler Polak for the remainder of the 2018 USL season, pending USL and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.

Polak was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and developed at the IMG Soccer Academy before playing at Creighton University and being drafted 22nd overall in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the New England Revolution.  He joined Rochester Rhinos of the USL in 2013 and made 13 appearances before joining Minnesota United in the NASL for the 2014-2015 seasons and made three appearances during that time.  Polak would then sign with FC Cincinnati and make 49 appearances over the 2016-2017 seasons before joining Miami FC where he won the 2018 NPSL National Championship.  He has represented the United States at the U17 and U20 levels with a total of 36 appearances for his country.

“I’m pleased with the addition of Tyler who is an experienced left-back at this level,” said STLFC Head Coach Anthony Pulis. “He is somebody who I’ve seen and know about for a number of years and I’ve always been impressed with him. With the loss of Aedan [Stanley to Duke University], he fills a spot we needed filled and now we have two really good left-backs to compete for a starting spot.”

“I am beyond excited to be joining STLFC,” said Polak. “Being back in the Midwest and closer to home is giving me an extra edge to perform and help the team win. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and pushing for a playoff spot and beyond.”
