PHOENIX – The temperature at kickoff might have been in the triple-digits, but Phoenix Rising FC still welcomed a club-record crowd of 7,381 fans to the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex on Friday night to see the hosts take a 1-0 victory against Seattle Sounders FC 2.
“I think it’s amazing,” said Rising FC Head Coach Rick Schantz. “What are we, July? In the middle of July and it’s humid and miserable and we love it. It’s Arizona. I can put up with this for a couple of months. Then we get the rest of the year in the winter time but when all the fans come out like this, the guys won’t stop running. And there were some tired players tonight. They put in a lot of work because of the fans.”
Here are some of the sights and sound from another historic blackout at in the heart of Arizona.
