HARTFORD, Conn. – Hartford Athletic became the sixth club to be announced as joining the USL for the 2019 season on Wednesday morning at the Boys & Girls Club of Hartford, with USL President Jake Edwards and Chief Operating Officer Justin Papadakis and Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin among the guests on hand to welcome the club to the league.
Here are some of the sights and sounds from the day as professional soccer arrived in Connecticut’s capital.
Pretty pumped to reserve my spot in line for season tickets to the inaugural season of @hfdathletic. To say Hartford has needed pro soccer is an understatement. Not many markets are a better fit for the sport than here, where soccer is part of every community.— Nick Mercadante (@NMercad) July 11, 2018
