TAMPA, Fla. – The United Soccer League and ESPN announced today that the national USL Game of the Week broadcast featuring Indy Eleven and Ottawa Fury FC, scheduled for the Fourth of July at Lucas Oil Stadium, will now air on ESPNU. Kickoff remains scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

The key USL Eastern Conference clash was originally scheduled to air on ESPNews as one of six over-the-air regular season broadcasts this season – part of the multi-year partnership between USL and ESPN which includes all the league’s matches airing on the innovative ESPN+ platform – but will now be available on ESPNU, which has a reach of more than 65 million viewers across the United States.

The game will remain available to Ottawa Fury FC fans in Canada and international fans of both clubs through the USL Match Center.

Indy Eleven enters this weekend’s clash with Penn FC as one of the top four sides in the USL’s Eastern Conference after extending its winning streak to three games this past Tuesday night against Nashville SC with a 2-0 victory at First Tennessee Park. A new addition to the USL this season, the Eleven are led by Head Coach Martin Rennie and feature players including Spanish defender Ayoze, who has recorded four goals and four assists through his dead ball wizardry, and former Welsh international goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams, who has recorded seven shutouts in 14 games this season.

Fury FC has overcome a slow start to the season to both move back into contention for a place in the USL Cup Playoffs and has also earned a matchup with Toronto FC of Major League Soccer in the Semifinals of the 2018 Canadian Championship after going 7-2-2 in all competitions since the start of May going into Saturday’s game with FC Cincinnati. Ottawa’s squad boasts multiple Canadian internationals, while both Fury FC Head Coach Nikola Popovic and goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau were honored in May as the USL Coach and Player of the Month, respectively.

The Fourth of July clash is the second of six USL regular season games scheduled to be aired on a linear network by ESPN this summer, with the summer of soccer also set to visit feature key games from both the Eastern and Western Conferences on linear ESPN networks as the race for the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs continues.
