TAMPA, Fla. – North Carolina FC goalkeeper Alex Tambakis has earned the USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Week for Week 15 of the 2018 season for his outstanding save against Louisville City FC last Saturday night at Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park, which finished top of the weekly online poll.

Tambakis has been one of the busier goalkeepers in the 2018 USL regular season with 44 saves through this past Saturday’s contest, and he produced another outstanding stop in the 2-2 draw with the defending USL Cup champions with a diving save that kept out a long-range shot by Louisville midfielder Speedy Williams that was pegged for the top-left corner.

Tambakis’ save earned 46 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Friday. Tulsa Roughnecks FC’s Fabian Cerda finished second with 22 percent for his point-blank denial of Orange County SC’s Thomas Enevoldsen, while Las Vegas Lights FC’s Angel Alvarez took third with 19 percent for his excellent save on a deflected shot by the Swope Park Rangers’ Chase Minter.
