PITTSBURGH (June 21, 2018) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (6-1-6) begins a two-game road swing with a visit to the Charleston Battery (5-3-6) on Saturday, June 23 at MUSC Health Stadium.

This weekend’s tilt marks the first meeting between the two clubs this season. The Hounds won the season series last year, 1-0-1, including a 2-1 victory on Charleston’s turf in early April.

The Battery have been a notoriously difficult opponent for the Hounds, holding a 12-6-11 advantage all-time against the Black and Gold. Last season’s win for Pittsburgh marked only the second overall in the current era of the USL (since 2011) against Charleston.

Rolling in on a two-game winning streak though, the Hounds look primed to flip the script. Pittsburgh has yet to taste defeat on the road in five tries this season (2-0-3), including impressive draws over Cincinnati, Nashville and Tampa Bay. Charleston, meanwhile, has not won a match since May 12, but is 4-1-2 at home.

Fans hoping to catch Saturday’s match can watch live locally on Pittsburgh’s CW or stream the match on ESPN+. Up-to-the-minute stats can also be found on USL Match Center. In addition, the Hounds will be hosting a Watch Party at Smokin’ Joe’s Saloon in South Side for fans of age with drink and food specials including a free round of Hounds Ale after every Hounds goal and 45-cent wings. Festivities kick off at 6 p.m.

More info on the match can be found below.
