THREE THINGS THAT MATTERED

1. With just one win on the road this season the odds seemed stacked against Penn FC, but the visitors came in on form and stunned the Rowdies with a clinical performance. Winning this match extended Penn's undefeated streak to four matches, doubling its next best streak of the season, with three of the team's five wins this season coming in this run.

2. Lucky Mkosana came back to Tampa Bay, the team he played 35 games for in 2013 and 2014 and punished his former side with two goals. That was the second brace in a row for the Zimbabwean who scored two last week against Louisville City FC.

3. The Tampa Bay Rowdies had made Al Lang Stadium a fortress until this match, their first loss at home this season. The Rowdies have not lost a regular season match at home since April 22nd 2017, a 3-2 loss to the Charleston Battery, the only time they had done so at home since joining USL last season.

TAMPA BAY ROWDIES (1) vs. PENN FC (2)

A brace to Lucky Mkosana saw him haunt his former club as Penn FC ended the Tampa Bay Rowdies' home undefeated streak with a 2-1 win.

The Rowdies opened the scoring in the 34th minute when a perfect ball square from the left sent in by the retiring Marcel Schäfer found Taylor in the middle of the box who sent it perfectly across the face despite being put under pressure.

Penn came out of the half ready to get level and just four minutes into the second half had the equalizer. The Tampa Bay defense failed to deal with the ball in the box, which allowed Lucky Mkosana to bundle the ball home, haunting his former club.

Things went from bad to worse for the Rowdies just two minutes later when Taylor earned a straight red card for violent conduct. That would eventually be punished by Mkosana's brace as he ran got on the end of Frederick Opoku's through ball from the left, tapping it home at the near post.
