TAMPA, Fla. – Ottawa Fury FC goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau has been voted the USL Player of the Month for May after an immaculate month that saw the Canadian international not concede a goal in six appearances for the club.
The 24-year-old Crepeau helped Ottawa post an undefeated 4-0-2 record, as he recorded 16 saves across six games over the course of the month, which helped the side push back into contention for the USL Cup Playoffs. Among his performances was a seven-save shutout against the New York Red Bulls II on May 2 and a double-save from a penalty kick against the Charleston Battery on May 19 that was nominated for USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Month.
Crepeau received 43 percent of a weighted poll that included the USL Technical Committee, a national panel of independent media representing every USL market and an online fan vote held at USLSoccer.com. FC Cincinnati midfielder Emmanuel Ledesma finished second with 37 percent after a month in which he recorded three goals and five assists for the Eastern Conference-leader.
