COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Swope Park Rangers bounce back after falling to Saint Louis FC on June 2 by topping Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC 1-0 at Weidner Field on Saturday evening. Hadji Barry netted his fifth goal of the regular season in the 40th minute after stealing the ball off Jordan Schweitzer just outside the penalty box before sprinting towards goal and finishing a right-footed shot. Colorado Springs outshot the Rangers 16-9, but the home side was only able to put four shots on frame all evening. One of the Switchbacks’ best chances to equalize came in the 72nd minute, when Saeed Robinson cut inside and hit a left-footed effort on frame from inside the box, but Rangers goalkeeper Eric Dick made a strong save, punching the ball away and to safety, to secure the clean sheet. With the result, the Rangers improve to 6-3-4 in the regular season, while the Switchbacks fall to 5-8-2 in 2018.
