TULSA, Okla. – While Tulsa Roughnecks FC kept banging on the door in search of its first win of the USL regular season, OKC Energy FC did enough to secure a 1-1 draw at ONEOK Field on Saturday evening. Energy FC found the back of the net immediately, as Christian Volesky scored less than 45 seconds into the match to silence the crowd. However, Tulsa controlled the play for the rest of the half, securing 63.1 percent of possession during the opening 45 minutes while netting the equalizing goal through Joaquin Rivas, who hit a well-placed shot into the bottom-left corner after a beautiful backheel pass from Jhon Pírez in the 16th minute. OKC came closest to breaking the deadlock late into the match, but Volesky’s attempt on goal in the 76th minute was cleared off the line by Wyatt Omsberg to preserve a point. With the result, the Roughnecks move to 0-4-7 on the year, while Energy FC is now 2-8-1.
