Long-range blast to open scoring against North Carolina earns top spot in weekly fan poll

TAMPA, Fla. – FC Cincinnati midfielder Nazmi Albadawi has earned the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 10 of the 2018 season as his long-range blast that opened the scoring against North Carolina FC last Saturday night at Nippert Stadium took top spot in the weekly online poll.

Facing his former club for the first time, Albadawi struck early to give Cincinnati the lead as he took a pass by Emmanuel Ledesma in the left channel and laced home a finish from 25 yards out into the top-right corner of the net. The goal was Albadawi’s first of two goals in the game that helped lead FCC to a 4-1 victory.

Albadawi’s goal earned 45 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday. ATL UTD 2’s Laurent Kissidou took second place for his sharp finish from just outside the penalty area against Louisville City FC last Saturday night, and Tulsa Roughnecks FC’s Joaquin Rivas took this for his precise finish from the top of the penalty area that earned his side a 1-1 draw with San Antonio FC.
