PHOENIX – A winner of the UEFA Champions League, Premier League and former member of the FIFPro World XI, legendary forward Didier Drogba made his 500th club appearances on Saturday night as Phoenix Rising FC played host to Sacramento Republic FC in front of a sellout crowd of 6,503 fans at the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex. While the night didn’t quite end in the manner Rising FC had hoped, the high-profile Western Conference clash produced memorable sights and sounds around the venue.

My 1st @PHXRisingFC game!
We didn't get the W, but we witnessed @didierdrogba make his 500th league appearance!
Owner @berkebakay presents him w/ a very cool jersey.#RisingAsOne

Well result did not go our way tonight, but had a great time cheering on our boys in red. We pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off & move on to Swope.— John McPherson (@johnmcp66) May 20, 2018
Games come thick & fast, no point wallowing in pity. Lets make this a successful roadtrip @PHXRisingFC#RisingAsOne #PHXvSAC
Alright @PHXRisingFC ... You got me hooked tonight! Might not have walked away with that “W” but the energy and seeing the place sold out got me! Can’t wait to see this team and organization grow, and come back for another match! #RisingAsOne #BrightFuture #USL #FutureMLSteam pic.twitter.com/n4G1MwF7JT— Nick Erikson (@NErikson85) May 20, 2018
