LAS VEGAS – Freddy Adu is a member of Las Vegas Lights FC.
The former U.S. international was officially added to the club’s roster on Thursday, making Adu available for selection as Lights FC hosts Silver State Cup rival Reno 1868 FC this Saturday night in the club’s inaugural regular-season home opener at Cashman Field (8 p.m. PT | Match Center).
Adu had trained with Lights FC throughout preseason and saw action in Las Vegas’ scrimmage against his first professional club, D.C. United, on February 24 during which he recorded an assist. Now more than a year removed from his last official appearance professionally for the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Adu is set to return to action with Lights FC.
Lights FC is coming off a 3-2 victory against Fresno FC in its first game of the season, a game which saw Matt Thomas score 70 seconds into the contest. Tickets for Saturday night’s game are available at Lights FC’s website.
